Well, the Dem convention has kicked off in Mile High City. Jesse Jackson, Jr. just took the stage (excuse me; I just threw up in my mouth). Anywho, I'm glad that college football kicks off on Thursday night because I can't take much more of this mess!

When I was in New York city at the beginning of the month, I visited the Central Park Zoo in time to see the penguins and seals fed. If I viewed the DNC the same way, I could probably watch. Fortunately, I don't watch television and want to finish Glaathaar's book, General Lee's Army.
Ok guys upon reflection we need to tread softly here. Remember there be radical dems and radical repubs w/ a little of everything in between on this site. If you wouldn't like it said about your party then don't post it.

If you are feeling sick now just wait until after November when Obama and team bring renewal and change to government and nation.
Feeling a season of change in Washington D.C. in the air...

As a new participant to this forum, I'm disappointed to see that partisanness has made it here.
I hope it's not presumptuous of me (as a new member - with fewer posts even than the member that started this thread) to say this, but this is a forum focused on a period that is safely out of range of our personal ability to do anything about it.
I, for one, thank God the Democratic Party of today - which I am proud to belong to - is not the one that broke up in 1860 over the question of how racist it and the country should be.
Other members are of course free to disagree, or to support whomever they want for whatever reason. (And they're free not to watch the convention!) But perhaps this isn't the place to discuss it. I see the "current events and anything else you'd like to chat about" up there, but when the first thread that hits my eye on opening the "dispatch depot" has that title.... Perhaps the "general discussions" are can be moved further down the page. And there are plenty of places on the Internet where current politics can be discussed.
Edited to remark, yet again, how odd it is that this forum's software apparently finds the alternative-but-sometimes-more-correct version of "further" to be an obscenity!

ACKKKKKKKKKKKKK! Please no modern Obama/McCain Politics here!!! Please, its enough to have it on the radio, the cell phone, TV, commercials--let us have an oasis here please!!!
Let this thread die and bemoan the results way after the elections. Please, please---add as many please(s) as to be pleading, pitiful, groveling and a successful 'whine'
Respectfully submitted for consideration,
M. E. Wolf
