I'll throw this in before the padlock appears. I can't watch the convention because I lived in that beautiful town of Denver for two years. It sits at the foot of the massive, majestic, Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. I get home-sick whenever they show the city-scapes, and the mountain scenery. Road my Nishiki mountain bike everyday on Denvers massive intricate bike path network many times. The bike's all I had to get me around for 9 months. I sold my car and bought the bike out of choice, not necessity. I can tell you that you can start at one spot on your bike, on the outermost path circling the city, and ride all the way around back to that starting spot. Your odometer will show 35 miles. The entire ride offers views of the beautiful mountains, the city-scape, winds along the South Platte river for a time, and takes you through fields of gorgeous Columbines. I'm in Kentucky, beautiful enough, yes, but my heart will forever stay in Denver, Colorado.

Respectfully,
Leland

Default Show...

I think the Dog and Pony Show in Denver. Is going quiet well, I would say. I believe the main speakers so far have hit Home Runs with their speeches the last two nights....Our day of deliverance is coming in November...

Guy:

She could have done worse, but not by much. Did Sten Ole take her back to Norway? Or Iceland? And does she begin a sentence with "Oof dah" yet?

Yes, he took her back to Trondheim, the thieving Norseman (I'm half Irish and know the history of Viking raids on that fair Isle). I'm sure she's learned at least a few oaths and curses in Norwegian by now. And she says lutefisk is "nasty".

Bear with me please. One more Denver-related photo and I'm done. The Columbine flower is Colorados state flower...found everywhere there, and in many colors.

You cannot imagine how glad I am that we cut the cable about two years ago, and have neither dish nor bunny ears to animate the haunted fish tank.

It's like being on a beautiful tropical seashore, cool breezes wafting through the palms... No shouting, pushing, shoving or watching pundits wrestle for meaning in 3% this, 4% of that, all with a 5% margin of error.

We don't miss it.
Not a bit.

In fact, while I know what's going on in Denver, it wasn't until I cracked the thread that I realized this was about that convention.
Much better to read at your own pace - you can't force water into a sponge, and someone shouting at you over the tube doesn't make one understand.

Ah, the good life. I think I'll go watch some "Top Gear."

Guy:

Mother's people were from Trondheim. And yes, lutefisk has all the appeal of a soft booger. It is said that the ritual of eating it is to remind everyone why their families left Norway. Works for me.
