Default American Revolutionary books by Robert Bass. Your opinion on the author.

I am interested in these two books that I've never read:

1.) Swamp Fox by Robert Bass.
2.) Gamecock: The Life and Campaigns of General Thomas Sumter by Robert Bass.

For those who have read them or either one, please post your reviews and thoughts on the books. Thank you.

By the way, is there a American Revolutionary War board on the internet that's similar to this one? I haven't found one. Please post the link(s) if you are a member of or found one. Thank you.

Mr. King, welcome aboard! I assume from your post that you are probably a son of the South. I haven't read these books, nor have I heard of them, but am interested since at least three of my ancestors were at Kings Mountain (Capt Samuel Johnson, Sgt-Major Nathaniel Vannoy and Capt. Joseph Cole, Jr. ) and one of my wife's was killed by Tory forces near Camden when he was near 70 years of age, (Thomas Fain Westmoreland.)

As you probably noticed this forum is populated by a bunch of civil war freaks. Not too much out of them the past few years concerning the Revolution. I will be happy to swap notes on the Revolution in the south if you wish. I'm a bit of a novice, but very interested. Gx6 grandpa George Cress was shot at a place called White Horse Tavern not too far from Valley Forge. (He reported for duty the next morning, though he had been left for dead. He did of extreme old age in eastern Ohio.) Another distant cousin, G. Washington, was tangled up in this fracas, as you probably know. You can reach me for a while at lcoc@bellsouth.net. My new computer has arrived and I'm about to make the leap from dial-up to the real world.

Thank you very much, larry_cockerham!

That is fascinating to know about your ancestors who fought for the American Revolution.

I have two ggggg grandfather that I read/told that fought in the war. One of them fought in several Campaigns and ended up getting captured. He was sent to Valley Forge and survived. Then he went home to his wife or started a family with 15 children.

Thank you for the email address and I would like it very much to discuss with you on the American Revolution. I am a son of the South; South Carolina.

Congrats on your new computer. I just got a new computer desk and chair for mine.

Dear Mr. King and Larry_Cockerham;

If and when you do have a book review and or discussion about books read; please be sure to go to the Book & Movie Review Tent portion of the forums; as not to be missed by those who look up those books and or movies to get or to avoid.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
M. E. Wolf
