For anyone interested in the issue of Presidential powers and the Supreme Court, there is an interesting article in today's New York Times:
War Powers Why This Court Keeps Rebuking This President by Jonathan Mahler

Charles Cotesworth Pinckney of South Carolina, 1740-1824, Revolutionary War soldier, one of the authors of the US Constitution in 1787, speaking at the South Carolina Ratifying Convention in 1788.
An amazingly thoughtful link, Trice. Whether one agrees or disagrees, Mahler's article is certainly worth pondering. Thank you for that contribution.

Our Chief Executive (W) of our nation has hide behind the words "National Security" to justify Unconstitutional Acts, Un-American behavior, and plain crimes.
My dad always said the greatest threat to our constitution was these these words "In the name of National Security."
A thought to ponder...

"National Security" is a good place to start finding conspiracies toward tyranny. But it is always a temporary measure. (Did I just say "always"?) When this sort of thing comes up, I usually try to assign to myself the power of the president -- is this something I would do? Would I rather err on the side of protection? Or would I rather err on the side of an iffy ideal that really works only when there is no war to be fought? Or is there a direction to go when there are obstacles that appear now and then?
We have met our enemy, and he is us.

You know, if you take your post, and translate it into Hebrew, and then equi-distantly select each twentieth
character, and then spell them out, like the Bible Codes
of Michael Drosnin, you get:
L I N C O L N
crossed with
T Y R A N T
I guess that, hidden deep within in your words, were the seeds of despotism, all along!
The kooky theory of finding secret messages in an ancient document is a bit stunning isn't it? Even more amazing is finding someone who believes it.
