Fellow Junkies,

I'm reluctant to post anything about current politics on this site, but saw this one, and got sick to my stomach reading it.

Sorry if it is "off topic"

David

I must have missread the discription of campfire chat then, Current events or anything else you would like to chat about. should it be changed to read except politics. It was politics that lead to the war we all like to chat about. Of course discussion should be civil.

Gotta go with the "this is the no holds barred" forum. I'd rather not see modern politics ever, but it was set up this way. And this way is the way it will remain until the webmasters yank my chain.

Perhaps a thread on understanding women, or for the women understanding men. Would probably be as volitile as politics.

My recollection is that, quite some time ago, a thread was started that discussed a current political situation. The discussion got heated, and Ami stepped in with a post that said, quite simply, "NO POLITICS!" And that was the end of that.

Perhaps my recollection is faulty, or perhaps Ami's attitude has changed. Until Mike or Ami says otherwise, I reckon Ole's ruling stands.

Look...I didn't mean to start a brouhaha or to cause an editorial stance here...I was just disgusted by the behavior. I won't do it again.

Modern Politics is acceptable but in this forum only. It is, and should be, watched carefully to keep it civil. Several hot button issues can get ugly real fast and when they have nothing to do w/ the CW...

Hoosier is correct in his recollection; it was actually my fault. IIRC I started a series of threads praising the men in harms way, one got hijacked by someone who wasn't real interested in honoring the US soldier and it rapidly went TU from there.

Don't worry about it, David. We all have a need to vent or get silly now and then. If the urge is there, this forum is were it belongs. On any other, it tends to vanish. Actually, a little brouhaha now and then keeps things interesting.

this is the right place for this type of post, and until things go sour I try to stay out of it.

so as long as everyone can play nice, we try to stay out of the way.

Don't feel like you were wrong by posting something you thought was interesting.
