Sorry Ole, I'd thought that you might already be familiar with the term. But in case you are not, and for others listening in, a "Redleg" is a soldier connected with the artillery branch of the army. The term comes from the red stripe on the trousers, and has been around since before the Mexican War (1840's) as far as I know; maybe earlier. I'll admit to not having a clue to what inside meaning it may have in Missouri . . .
