Default Battle at Kruger

This is a fascinating video that won a Youtube award that I just wanted to share in case you hadn't seen it.

Water Buffaloes are attacked by lions, the lions catch a baby buffalo, then a crocodile vies with the lions for the baby buffalo, then the whole herd of buffaloes come back to save the baby and attack the lions!

Default Battle at Kruger

A quick search and it turns out that a 'mobbing attack' by Cape Buffalo is not uncommon, or even among various other herbavors, where communal activities, including defense, is regularly practiced.
One commentator on the film, was that both the Lions and Croc's must have had their 'B' Teams in action that day.

A friend of mine hunts buffalo in Africa. He informs me that these are Cape Buffalo, not Water Buffalo.

Several of the buffalo he has brought down have scars from lion attacks.
