Dear Jamieva,

Sure reminds everybody that all ammo should be handled with respect and treated as 'alive' as it was made.

Sincerely,

Yup. They've been at his house for a day and a half now setting off the rest of the stuff.

When Ed Bearss and Co. recovered the Kay-roe (Cairo), they discovered that the shells still contained blackpowder which, when dried, was potent. Black powder is forever and it smells better than pyrodex.

There was another a year or two back who had deactivated hundreds of shells. Until the last one. Don't know if he eventually died of the damage, but if he lived, he lived seriously messed up.

If you make a practice of playing with old ordnance, sooner or later one is going to get you. You can bet on it.
