Now I'm convinced that full-blown dotage is upon me. How do I get into the room? I click on the icon and nothing happens. Is there another procedure someone might fill me in on?

Ole, I clicked on "chat" and that took me to a log-in screen. After I logged in with username and password, a box came up which said "default". I clicked on that and then I was in the chat room. Hope that helps.
