I'm going to put in a support ticket and see if I can find out what's going on...

Okay, here is what I was told:

"Have your member's occasionally clear their chat history log (it's a button in the chatroom) when this starts to happen and it should clear up the problem."

The button actually says "Clear Chat Text". I don't know if it will actually solve the problem, but try it and let me know.

We might hope that that would solve the "problem" mike. I don't have it, but it seems that Mobile and sam do. My only critique is that when I hit "enter" it might take some many seconds for the message to show -- as many as 30 or 20, anyway.

There apparently exists some little glitch. Whether that's in sam's or mobile's software, I can't say. But it is there. They both use Vista.Could that have something to do with it?

I'm not sure, I'm using Mac OSX, and all my Windows machines are XP.

I'm going to keep watching things and try to iron out our troubles...

I was dubious about the suggestion you were given to clear up the problem, as I had the problem from the get-go, so had nothing to clear, but I went in and tried it anyway and can verify that that "solution" does not work.

Mike, I think these guys are just stringing you along until they can figure out the problem.. I am in the business, and their response is typical of folks who don't completely understand what the heck they are doing.

I was in the chat room last night for the first time when other people were there and I too had the same problem. I had to type some characters 8 or 10 times to get them to show up. Finally after a few minutes I couldn't type anything at all.
My apologies to ole for just disapearing.

Thanks, Tarheel. Usually, when people just disappear, I figure I've upset them somewhat. Knowing that that was not the case does help.

Recommendation. Refresh. Usually I sign onto the chatroom when I sign onto this board. I suspect others do as well. If you don't refresh, you can't know. Before you log out, refresh.

I know we've been having lots of issues, so this weekend, hopefully Friday night I'm going to make some changes.

I hope we can get a working chat room going!
