Get your Civil War bean soup right here! Check out this website for a festival founded in honor of a type of soup popular with Civil War soldiers:
www.mcclurebeansoup.com
If you can't make it to this year's festival (which ends tomorrow), you can start making plans for next year.

That photographic, perhaps political, or at least blantantly monetary process on the part of the photographers, always seemed a bit vulturistic to me.

If methane from cows is a problem with global warming, shouldn't this event be reconsidered?

I've heard that Civil War campsites tended to be pretty noisy when the soldiers first woke up in the morning because of all the coughing from guys feeling the cumulative effects of sleeping outdoors night after night.
I guess the cumulative effects of a good bowl of soup or two might have resulted in some other noises around those campsites as well.

That soup might be better with some white corn bread and some JD to wash it down.

Love the beans, hate the web sites that blast 'music' at you.

Doesn't the PoW version of Bean Soup involve trying to find the bean in the soup?

I love it when a group of dedicated civil war scholars merge their minds and talents in creative thought. Then, there's us.
