This one is rusted in place. It ain't gonna roll out. I suspect it's been in Centennial Park since the 1906 exposition, but can't prove it. We moved the entire mortar with a large bobcat loader.

Well, we discovered today that the ball rusted in the barrel is hollow. Not necessarily a good sign.

Our rustly old cannon ball is still covered with oil and rests in security waiting to see if we can get some separation from the barrel. Pretty darned exciting, ain't it?

If it doesn't move and it should -- WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't -- duct tape.
