Subtitle: Sherman's Total War Tactics
A look back at the path of Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman's 1864 Civil War march to the sea, from Atlanta to Savannah; and at the tactics he used to break the South's infrastructure and morale. Also examined are Sherman's methods of swiftly moving his troops.
---
Just watched Friday's telecast of this program. It's pretty darned good. Not to be confused with the HC's 'Sherman's March' from last month, this is both an overview of Sherman's campaign from Atlanta thru No. Carolina, and an investigation of some of its particulars.
The 'This Old House' guy (I think?) (not Bob Villa, the guy who replaced him) goes into such things as the building of pontoon boats, twisting railroad rails, the single shot rifles vs. the repeating rifles (Monroe's Crossroads), etc.

While I was dealing with the WBTS Trivia Game aftermath, there was 'Jeopary' on the TV, (it just came on after the golf), and while I paid no attention, a couple times my sub-whatever alerted me to a CW related answer:
the catagory was "John C."
the answer was "as Jackson was to Calhoun, so was Buchanan to ______."
Got it. The answer was Breckinridge, no one got it.
then later something about a locomotive capured, etc ...
Got that one too: "The General" No one got it.
Just a way a mixed up mind works while focused on CW matters.
Maybe too much CW on the brain?
