There were a few episodes on "The Twilight Zone," as well -- if the cobwebs have been cleared sufficiently.

Sure, there was one Star Trek episode where Kirk got to meet Abraham Lincoln, and Lincoln compared Kirk to Grant.

And I seem to recall a Twilight Zone version of "Occurrance at Owl Creek Bridge."

Didn't the guy on Quantum Leap jump into the Civil War one time??

Kirk the womanizer was no Grant. Grant's wisdom exceeds that of a mere starship Kapitan.

As for Sci-Fi Tee-Vee shows, dis chile enjoyed the original series. Action driven with no socialist drivel found in the newer series.

I have never been a very big sci fi fan, but I loved Quantum Leap and Star Trek the Next Generation!!! (thanks dad)

My favorite sci fi computer games are Starflights 1 & 2 and Protostar. (thanks dad again)

Stargate SG-1 with Richard Dean Anderson.

I like it because it is present day folks in extraordinary circumstances, pretty much like the people in the Civil War.

And I liked Anderson's humor in the series.

Yes, and old Twilight Zone (taking place in the 1960s) in which a man (a history professor) is about to get married to a young gal (one of his students) but her father is a little leary of the guy... something just doesn't seem right. I can't remember all the reasons why the dad was unhappy with his daughter's choice of husband, but right as the gal and the professor were about to take off for an elopement, the dad figures out what 'the bad feeling' is. The guy is one of the 'undead', made some sort of deal with the devil, and will live forever. The way the dad figures it out? The professor had a picture of himself and his Union regiment on his desk!! Somehow the secret is revealed, as well as whatever it is that will make the prof become one of the 'dead', so to speak. We see him age right into dust before our eyes on the persian rug!

Another one, I just saw last week, a guy wants to do a history TV show (in the 1960s again and LOOOOOONG before cable!) and can not get a break. He finally writes a stunning piece and gets his big chance. Brought into the executive producer's office, receiving congrats, the producer asked who helped him with the writing. Turns out the guy has been communicating with the dead, and they have been brought back to life. So he starts to introduce his writing team, and in come Robert E. Lee, US Grant, Lincoln, and so forth.

I think that during the CW centennial, there were a lot of toss-ins of CW themes as both of these shows were of that vintage.

Default Civil War in Sci-Fi.

Hi 30th Il, Corporal Sir!

Back in the 60s, the English TV show Dr.Who ran a series of episodes called 'The War Games' where the Dr. was caught in vortex where the aliens ran 'War Games' and one was the WBTS. Another was The Great War, The Scottish rebellion etc.

Black & white and I don't think on DVD or Video anywhere on the planet! Not even in the BBC archive!!

Lincolns speeches or snippets from them rather regualry appear in Baylon 5, Capt Sheridan who cammands the station does a good rendition of nobly save or ,meanly lose the last best hope of peace, and G`kar (alien lizard) does even better!.

Time Tunnel, which someone mentioned, from my dim memory i rember a CW episode and an Alamo episode.

I have read a recent book in which a Union Regiment slips through time and fights in a future war, but its not especially good.

Congrats on your promotion.
