If they made Civil War Action figures (like GI Joe)
Would the one of George "Little Mac" McClellan be an Inaction Figure?
Would J. B. Hood come with a detachable leg and arm (sorry, not meant to be morbid)?
Would Fighting Joe Hooker's doll be red faced (suggesting an inebriated state)?
And my favorite Union General, Benjamin Butler (because if I was soldiering under the Beast you can bet I'd never have to fight), be equipped with miniature spoons to fall out of his pockets?
The "Cump" Sherman figure comes with a miniature book of matches.
The Dan Sickles "GI Joe" comes with a detachable leg, and a miniature glass display case.
The Stonewall Jackson figure includes a miniature lemon slice.

To be honest, K-mart came out with such figures, I picked up the "Antietam collection" that included an officer, and two NCOs. Then I found Berdan Sharpshooter, but his rifle wasn't a Sharps rifle.
To make a serious aside of an amusing thread, I have a Civil War GI Joe that my friend ordered off the Internet. This guy's kit is very intricate, down to a little tin cup, a shelter half and tent stakes! I take him along when I go talk to schoolkids.
That's pretty cool Zou. Do you do a presentation to kids about the war? How often do you do that?

George Armstrong Custer's doll would be a young, dashing 23-year-old general officer. The gaudy uniform would feature shiny jackboots, olive corduroy trousers, a wide-brimmed slouch hat, a tight hussar jacket of black velveteen with silver piping on the sleeves, a sailor shirt with silver stars on his collar, and a red cravat. It's hair would be worn in long glistening ringlets liberally sprinkled with cinnamon-scented hair oil.
I wouldn't be purchasing one.

It should go without saying that although I am a proud member of the military, my posts in no way reflect the official policies of the USAF or the United States government.
