Default Cool link for viewing battlefields

I tried this link when I heard about it. You may already be aware of it. You can zoom in on battlefields, and other sites. You can get close enough to see the statues fairly clearly. Click aerial, then birdseye. As far as I know it's a free service through Windows. The still below is of part of the National Cemetery at Gettysburg. Type in your destination in the search window then use the arrows and the right-click function to get as close as you can.

I'm not sure as to if the photo can be refreshed to show live real-time or not. I'm still playing around with it. If anybody has any tips please share them. Thanks

Terry

Interesting, but hard to figure (for me) how to manipulate it.

What other battlefields are available? I tried Vicksburg, but nothing happened.

Sam, unfortunately not all areas of the country are available with the "Birdseye" feature. This link below is the best I could do at Vicksburg.

If you enter "Vicksburg battlefield" in the search window you'll come up with the general area. You can zoom in from there, then hold the left click down on the mouse and pan around until you find the field. If "aerial" and "birdseye" is available you'll see the options for them on the left. If not, then you can still Zoom and pan around but you won't get any aerial photography. I understand the site is still being developed so hopefully we'll be able to view all battlefields by "birdseye" eventually.

This is all I could get at Antietam. No "birdseye" here either. I guess it's not as cool as I first thought. Oh well.

I guess I'll have to pull up a battlefield map and try to figure out what I'm looking at! I'm having a hard time with the visualization.
