Our newest feature, the Chat Room is now available. Click the "Chat" link in the blue menubar at the top of any message board screen.

What do you think? Do you like it?

Default Chat Room

Other than that I've been banned from looking at it, sounds good. Ole

Looks interesting - wonder how it works. Does it show who is there? I tried it but didn't detect anyone else in the room.

Ole, What a distiction, to be the first banned from a chat room that apparently no one has yet visited!

I was in there for a little while. Changed all the blue to gray ... talked to one person and left. But I didn't ban Ole I promise.

Tarheel, how can you tell if someone else is there?

Thanks to Tarheel for helping me figure it out. Should be an interesting new feature! (may get "nutty" tho?).

Is it resticted to members only (except Ole) or can visitors use it?

The dreaded Chat Room "BANNED" error...

Well, it seems that this error message has plagued a few users, and I wanted to clear a few things up. The Chat Room is linked to our message board system, so if you wish to use it, you have either be currently "logged-in" at the message boards, or you will need to log into the chat room using your message board username and password. Both types of logins seem to work properly.

If you try to enter the chat room with no password, or with a different password than the one you use on the message board it may give you a "banned" error message, but let me assure you, you are not actually banned.

I hope we can resolve any other problems quickly.

By the way, this is a FLASH powered chat, so if you don't have Shockwave FLASH installed you may be prompted to download the drivers into your browser, but 98% of users already have flash. If you aren't sure, don't worry about it, try the chat room, it should work fine.

If you have trouble, you can always email me.

Default Logging in

I've tried logging in "seven ways to Sunday" and I still cannot open the chat room up.

30th_il

Is it possible the undescore in your username is the problem?
I'll have to do more testing I guess. Ami and I can log in and out at will, and never seem to have trouble.

What browser are you using?

Sounds like a different problem from the 'banned' problem.
