Harrison Ford will star in Manhunt, a Civil War thriller about the search for Abraham Lincoln's assassin.

In the movie, Ford will play the leader of the search, Col. Everton Conger. The story will focus on the days after Lincoln's assassination in 1865 and will follow the New York Cavalry as it solves the mystery that eventually leads to John Wilkes Booth, uncovering a plot that threatens to plunge the nation back into war. Conger was in command of the troops when they tracked down Booth in a Virginia barn 12 days after Lincoln was shot.

Mike Rich will write the screenplay. The story is based on James L. Swanson's upcoming book Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer, an hour-by-hour account of the search for Booth, to be published by William Morrow in February. (Click here to pre-order.) Swanson previously wrote about the crime in 2001's Lincoln's Assassins: Their Trial and Execution.

Ford next stars in Warner Bros.' Firewall, currently in post-production.

I guess that answers my question, but he looks kinda like Lincoln in that picture.

Maybe he looks for Booth disguised as Lincoln?

Hey Sam, it looks like some sort of digital hybrid to me. Sorta looks like somebody digitally superimposed Harry's face on a Lincoln photo, but I could be wrong. Maybe it's really Harry...

Word has it that Ford quit this movie, and it may not be produced at all.

Meanwhile, I'm watching "Prisoner of Shark Island" (the prisoner being Dr. Sam Mudd) just now on TCM.
