Talking Sherman's march to the sea-not what you think.

Well, for all of my CWT friends, you'll all appreciate this.

My husband and I were watching the history channel's special last week Sunday, on Sherman and his march to the sea. And for those who don't know, I was (see the was) pregnant, but right after the program was over, well, the sea broke. At exactly 10:00 our little General was inspired, and my water broke! The whole way to the hospital (a nice little bumpy 15 minute ride from our house) my husband and I were commenting on the fact that this little General was either not happy or wanted to see more about Sherman. Well, by 8:52 am on Monday May 23rd. our little General Mason Gene Theissen was born. A whoping 7lbs. 7.7 oz, 20" l, and healthy as an ox. And a good set of lungs on him too. My mom had thought we should fit Sherman into his name somewhere, but I just couldn't do that to the poor boy. I may be Union thru and thru, but to torture the kid with being a "Sherman" was not my idea of fun. So, instead we call him the little General, and all is well. It's hard to believe he's a week old already. And he has his first re-enactment coming up this weekend, at our Milwaukee VA Center. He'll be in his first fashion show, and no, don't worry, I'm not camping out with the little guy. I'm a dedicated re-enactor, but not crazy!!!

I will always remember how Mason came into this world, on the heals of Sherman's march!!!

Thought you would all enjoy that story.

Congratulations! Thanks also for avoiding Sherman, as most of my southern ancestors attempted to do. Robert or Nathan would have been nice names, but stick with the one you've chosen. Best of luck to you all.

Congratulations Jenna,

I would have hopes that Little General, was a confederate sympathizer and was on his way to South Carolina with his musket after Sherman.
