Default Something kinda cool...

The new Tennessee Monunment about to be dedicated a Shiloh....

I just found out about this.

About 8 or 9 years ago I opened a company called Western Depot - now out of business - because I was overwhelmed. But anyway, I made nice reproduction uniforms for my buddies and others. I found out that the Tennessee Monument - the first monument erected at Shiloh in over 80 years - was posed by a friend of mine. The coolest part was that he was wearing a frock coat that I made for him in 1997.

It may not sound that important, but I think its pretty cool that I can tell my grandkids when they see it, that I made the actual coat that was used in the creation of the monument.

He is holding a flint-lock musket and wearing a 7 button single breasted frock in the statue. I can't wait to see it.

Some of our Sam Davis Camp SCV guys are going down to Shiloh to lay a wreath at the dedication ceremony. I'll try and see it this summer. We need pictures!

Steven,

It was Ike Gatlin that posed for the standing figure with the frock. There is also a man cradling a dead comrad.

Gunny,
I'd be busting some buttons too, If I were you. That is........totally cool! I mean, like, open the door, honey, I'm gonna throw out my chest. You have a right to feel that way, my good man, bask in the glow, you definately have earned it.
