Question Mary Killed Abe?????

While looking for some info to pass on to Thea on Mary Todd, I came across this insane article. I just had to share it, because it just went against everything that we know about the assassination of Lincoln, and who did what.
http://illuminati-news.com/mary-todd-killed-lincoln.htm

Any thoughts? Personally, it is a crazy notion. I just can't believe any of it.

Oh man Ray I think you hit it right on the head. I too thought it way to far fetched to believe. LOL! I'm still chuckling at you in your mother's basement though. Are you seeing any "signs"?

Oh mi gawd. It shows the Internet at its worse. BTW, if I were Abe, I'd kill myself so I wouldn't have to put up with Mary.

This theory about Lincoln's death is pure and utter rubbish and not worth the paper it took to write it.

Should have been published under Science Fiction, would have been received better.

This is what a fellow re-enactor friend of mine commented on. I just thought I would share his thoughts, and Ray, it falls right into what you said about the grassy knowel:

Jenna,

I read the piece. Interesting. However, I write this one up as more
crack-pot speculation. Sure, certain things can fit their explanation
of the situation, but other logic can be applied as well.

First: The derringer

If a person, man or woman, was plotting to do something as horrific as
kill the leader of their country, then stealth would need to be
employed. If Booth walked around with a Colt revolver, he would be a
little noticeable. Carrying a derringer would be more logical. The fact
that his derringer matched the description of the one own by Mary Todd
is coincidence. How many other people owned similar firearms during
that time? The other fact that derringers were traditionally carried by
women doesn't play into this at all.

Second: The waiting carriage

Lincoln was a celebrity. Perhaps he and Mary Todd entered Ford's
Theatre at the front entrance, but they certainly wouldn't have exited
the same way. Having a carriage (or limo) waiting out back is common
practice by celebrities so that they can beat a hasty retreat and not
be held up by an adoring public.

Third: Opium

Mary Todd wasn't an addict. That would have been too scandalous and too
hard to hide. If anything, she was manic-depressive. We'll just leave
it that she was a little unhinged.

Fourth: Printing money

Lincoln recognized that the country needed a standardized form of
currency, not a state-to-state issue... nothing more. They were reading
way too much into that situation.

I could go on, but why bother. It's an entertaining read, but I
wouldn't put too much stock into it. The website reminds me a lot of
the "Lone Gunmen" characters from the X Files series. All a bunch of
grassy-knoll theorists with nothing to back their claims up with.

But like I said, it was way out in left field, and since I had never come across it I just had to bring it up for you all to laugh at.

The actor's custom of saying "break a leg" prior to going on stage comes from the long held actor's beleif that it is bad luck to wish good luck. Nothing to do with John Wilks Booth.
