Yo, Steven!

As you know, Dr. Michael Bradley is far more than a hoot! After a good fifty years of studying the civil war, he has probably forgotten more than I will ever learn. Richard and his comrades are about to achieve a monument at Hoover's Gap to commemorate the yankees who were there. I suspect it's about time we install some monuments to let the tourists know where their ancestors fought and in some cases died. Then we can sell 'em a hamburger and send 'em back across the Ohio! Sometimes they feel the warm air and stay down. I've met lots of nice folks that way, including Richard.

While on the way to visit the Stones River Battlefield yesterday, I noticed the Confederate cemetery off of the interstate. The next time I'm in the area, I'll be sure to visit the site.

Funds are now being raised to comemmorate the 20th TN CSA at Hoover's Gap. Richard may have started something of significance!

Larry, I surely hope so. Although this is a very small battlefield park, it is a very very nice one. It is on the Gray Line tour from Murfreesboro to Chattanooga.

It is very important that the men, all of the men who fought here, be honored for there efforts. That is why, at the dedication of the marker for to be place there for the 18th Indiana Artillery, the the men of both sides will be honored.

It is my wish that at some point in time, that there will be more markers placed there.

Please keep us informed of the progress of this new effort. If there is anything that I can do, please let me know.

Richard, my friend, if you continue to reveal the true history and events of the time, the interest will continue to grow and the rest will take care of itself. Sometimes a nudge and a little elbow grease keep the effort moving. I place you in the lubricant category. May your efforts be long and productive. Thanks for all you do in bringing the various versions of memory of this conflict into harmony.
