Default Ballot Box Thread?

How does one create a ' Ballot Box' thread where votes can be counted and displayed?

Is there anything special to make the graphic answer bars, etc?

Sam, setting up a poll can be tricky. You have to get each of the steps right and the sequence doesn't really follow how you are thinking so you have to be alert throughout. You especially have to be careful NOT to hit any post buttons until you have checked everything out on the screen.

i am going to put up a poll soon and will write down the steps and get back to you.

The graphics answewr bar is one of the things you set up. The server automatically tabulates and sets up the bar graph.

Later, ed

Okay, Sam, here's the trick. When starting a new poll, you have to title it, then write about what you are polling. Generally you then preview your post to see that all is in order, then submit. BUT, here's the catch, do not hit Submit, bur continue down the post options to 'Include poll' and make sure to check that box. Then you hit Submit- Don't hit Submit before you check this box. Then you can set up your poll, be sure to put a zero in the 'Close poll' option to keep it open, and the number of options you want to use can be changed. Try not to make your selections too long because that gets tough to correct if you want to, and besides, you run out of space. When you are done, hit Submit again, and up goes the poll.

What's tricky is that you don't get to make the poll first, but you discuss the poll first, which is backwards, at least to my way of thinking, which ends up thriowing me off sometimes. The real trick is to be very sure to hit the Submit button only when you once you have told the server you want to include a poll and you are sure you're ready to detinate.
