I found some wonderful comics from Osprey Graphic History at the local 1/2 Price book store. The volumes I bought told the stories of Gettysburg, Shiloh, The Wilderness, 1st Bull Run and the Monitor and Merrimack. They are illustrated very well and written at about a 3rd grade reading level. They give a good synopsis of the battles and discuss all of the major players. This is a great way to introduce the kids to the CW. Check out the web site www.ospreygraphichistory.com
And not just kids. I picked up a selection of them recently and they come in handy when I need to quickly refresh my memory about the basics of various battles.
