Winter War on the Rappahannock..... I just finished The Fredericksburg Campaign Winter on the Rappahannock by Francis Augustin O'Reilly. Boy was it a good read. The author takes you through Nov, Dec 1862 and into Jan 1863. The background of the 2 armys and their state of mind played greatly throughout the book. Key points that I enjoyed,
The first urban skirmishes, Major John Pelhams artillery stand at Hamilton's Crossing, and the use of written letters and diary accounts throughout.
My knowledge is not that great yet, but from a fresh fish like me it was very good.
