I'm darn proud of it no matter what any body thinks. Nobody living today was there, fought for it, or in otherwise had anything to do with it. It is our History good or bad it was what it was. The men who gave their life for that flag deserve our respect. I reenact and when I do I try to honor the CBF and the men who served under its colors. If the CBF offends you ask the person who has it why they display it or wear it you might be suprised at the answers(good or bad). People argue over where, when, how, or why it is displayed today. I say fly it if you got it! I will not make excuses for it!
Hope I didnt offend any one this subject just gets under my skin....

Among this crowd, we see it as a historic emblem. It's the KKK who made it a symbol of racism and that's why some blacks and their white sympathizers detest that flag. Can't say I blame them, but I still see the CBF as a historic emblem and think the KKK and racists who adopted it did the CBF a disservice.
Sorry folks, I should have been more aware of this copyright thing.

I have never been so confused in my life. Well, on second thought...yes I have, a few times and sometimes more confused. But anyway, what am I missing from this thread?

Bart, don't be confused. I was posting archived copyrighted material that I paid for, and the copyright owners took objection, and I don't blame them. Even though I paid my subscription, I posted it on a public forum, thereby violating copyright laws. I think that was the problem. My fault for not being more aware of the rules. I was posting from "Retreat from Gettysburg", and evidently even though I was attributing the posts to the author, the volume of material, or quantity that I had put up, caused a problem, and I understand that too. As I said, I should have known better. The last thing I wish to do is cause problems for Mike and Ami, and jeopardize the board. Again, to all those who raised objections, my sincere apologies.

Terry:
They should be grateful. Your posting has made me want to buy that book. Now, since theyve been so picayunish, I might very well not. Let them eat cake, but you know what I really mean. If I ever run across that book, it will be on the seconday market and the publisher can ..............

Well, I'm not privy to the world of publishing so it's not my place to judge. From what I understand the publisher was not very pleasant when notifying Mike and Ami about their displeasure. That's as far as I'll go with that. Again, I should have known better, and I apologize to Mike and Ami for putting them in this awkward position.

I'm w/ Ole here; they didn't have to be total schmucks.
Those who went running to the publisher instead of passing a PM to the admin crew here so Ami or Mike could have resolved the issue w/ no fuss... Shame.
