"Widow" was the last book I read. Hicks' prose is beautiful as well. Ever read anything by Cormac McCarthy? Now THAT is beautiful writing!

Let me know your opinion on Paul Johnson's chapters concerning the Civil War era.
I read up thru Reconstruction earlier this year.

Will do, Chuck! May take a little while, but I'm looking forward to it.

I think he might have also written a history of Christianity. If so, I'll have to get than one too.
