Default Rock of Chickamauga

I just finished a biography of George Thomas "The Rock of Chickamauga". This is a worthy book and I highly recommend it. Thomas was a Virginian who stuck with the Union. He was also one of the Union's very best. His family and friends disowned him and the Union higher-ups always seemed suspicious of him. If you ever wanted to know how petty Grant was and what a nervous kiss-up Sherman was, this is the book for you. Check it out. By the way, I have read well over a 100 books on the war; and I liked this one a lot

Grant doesn't come off too well in "The Edge of Glory" either.

I'll have to read " The Rock of Chickamauga." Don't know enough about Pap Thomas.

I enjoyed "The Edge of Glory" but there wasn't enough of Rosecrans's post war life in it for me. Poor Willie Rosecrans, if only they'd had Paxil in those days!
