Has anyone seen this 1995 movie starring Chris Cooper? It is set in Kentucky during the CW.

Any opinions?

Tommy,

Yup. A very good movie, about a very sad time and set of circumstances. A good story with a sad setting and well told.

Never heard of the movie before, but this thread makes me curious.

Which army was referred to as "Pharaoh's" and why?

Interesting, I'd like to see it. A note that is all too often forgotten today is that Kentucky was largely pro Union...

Another reference to Pharoah's Army is a song the Irish Brigade sang on their way to Fredricksburg. A stirring song w/ biblical conotations that was well thought of in Ireland. I'm not certain of the title but I've heard it a time or to. It is a stirring song and imagining that song led by the NCO's and the refrains sung by the soldiers (in Brigade strength)... sends chills up my spine to think of it.
