I'm reading it now and have a question as to the format. Instead of foot notes or end notes, the author has the notes assembled after the text in the manner of end-notes. Instead of placing small numbers so you can reference it directly, the notes have the page number and that's all. If you think there is something to look up, sometimes you find a note and sometimes you don't.

Is this some sort of new "standard" that is within some new copy of the Chicago Style Manual? I prefer the older end-note & footnote format myself.
