I've once been told that there are 70k books on the Civil War. That's a lot! Anybody got an accurate assessment (or ball park estimate) of the actual # and if so, from where?

When I was at Vincennes, I met one fellow who can trace his ancestry back to the Revolution and to quite a number of Civil War soldiers. He told me he read 200 books. I've read over 200 myself but I'm nowhere even near 1% (700). It's not some sort of goal in life but reading such a huge volume of books is staggering. It may stop becoming "fun" and take on aspects of (forgive me for the dirty word) "work." Hats off to those who can reach the 1% Club (if there's such a thing) and can they post here a bit more at this website?

Just finished reading John Jakes new book "Charleston" I was wondering if anyone else has read it, and what are their thoughts.
