If and when they make the third installment of the Shaara Trilogy into a movie, I understand the script is already in the making. What actor is best fitted to play US Grant?

Kelsey Grammer? naw, too tall, maybe Tommy Lee Jones, or how 'bout the actor who played Al in "Home Improvement" (the name escapes me)if he lost a little weight.

ya know, Kevin Klein didn't do too bad of a job in Wild Wild West, maybe he could do it! And although Martin Shean did do Lee in Gettysburg, he could also make a pretty good Grant if they get Robert DuVal to repeat as Lee.

That's just my two cents.

I thought Sheen's Lee was fairly pathetic (the worst I've seen him in a role!).

Haven't seen Duvall, but he must have been better.

I think both are excellent actors ( ever see 'The Execucution of Private Slovik' ?), but Sheen's Lee seemed cartoonish to me.

He was too short and squat to portray the guy that everybody said had a strong upright bearing in appeareance.

And the tiny hat!

I could go on, but won't, it was the weakest part of the film, to me.

(Berenger's Longstreet's phony beard kept bothering me also!)

I blame wardrobe and makeup, maybe Ted Turner, I guess I should have directed that film!

www.ronmaxwell.com only says that it will follow the characters from "Gods and Generals" and 'Gettysburg" and that more information will soon follow.

This is not to be confused by two additional movies of the same title, one a Vietman period piece and a Gettysburg documentry.

Got this by doing a Yahoo search.

Not sure if I want to see a Maxwell production of the 3rd book. G&G is painful to watch at times. They spent so much time on Jackson that they really minimized how well we get to know Lee which I think was a real shame in the movie.

Thanks Ole. I guess I need to go introduce myself

On Maxwell's site it just says more to come. I may shoot an email to Dr. Robertson to see if he is working on this one. I had his class when I was at Virginia Tech.
