Well, that movie. It was not entertaining. I like movies to be entertaining.
Even documentaries can be entertaining, if done well.
This was largely nothing more than a 'courtroom drama'. As long as Calicoboy has opened this up into film critism, for my taste the best courtroom drama ever must be 'Anatomy of a Murder'
Now there is a movie! You got majors like Jimmy (James) Stewart and , George C. Scott, you got Lee Remick and Ben Gazzara, classic old-timer Arthur O'Connell, plus as the judge, Joseph N. Welch (This is the attorney who represented the Army during the Army-McCarthy hearings. Welch's famous response "...Have you no sense of decency, sir..". ), finally, if that is not enough, the whole movie's music was done by Duke Ellington, who also makes a cameo appearance. (Director - Otto Preminger)
(Sorrry, Calicoboy made me do it.)
As for Amistad, I'll agree with the contention that: "The story is much more intriguing than the movie."
