Carter was not the worst president ever far from it. Yes, people accuse him of being inept; because he would not shoot first then ask question over the hostages. He tried to freed the Hostage but our military did not have their finest moment that day and failed him. His wife even even told him "If you just drop a few bombs you will get reelected but he chose wisely."

He would have won election if Anderson would not have run as a third party, look at the results and you will see it.

History will be kind to him in the end.

A note: The Panama canal is not that important as it once was: for one must supper tankers can't use it for they are to big. Another the locks are old and one bomb at one lock and the canal will be out of actions for months. l

Perhaps the question should have been "Who was the most justifiably reviled president while in office?"

True enough, and wasn't TR's original agreement like England's with China re Hong Kong? On this day in the future, you can have it all back? Can't exactly blame that on Carter.A note: The Panama canal is not that important as it once was: for one must supper tankers can't use it for they are to big. It would be charitable to hope so, but I doubt it.

Reviled? Maybe not, but here is something recent:

Only Buchanan was worse?

What do they know? (Elitists, probably.)

I read another article on that poll taken....and I think that they got it all wrong. When we look back at this past eight years twenty years from now, what will we say? Esp. if Shrillery is elected? I think these historians will have to back track a bit. And his presidency the worst of all time? Buchanan ranks worse in my opinion. I haven't seen the states threatening secession again, so this obviously isn't that bad.

My old buddy ( I got a letter from him once, inviting me to serve in the US army), Lyndon Baines Johnson, was well reviled while in office. I suspect he deserved most of it. He was a politician in every sense of the word. We had other words to describe him at the time.

Default Yippee!

I look at the bight side for U.S. Grant. He was considered the worst President to complete two full terms in office. We know now that "W" will have that honor, Yippee!

Another good thing is "W" will keep U.S. Grant out of the bottom ten in the ranking of U.S. Presidents forever now, Yippee!

At least we now know that "W's" time in office had one good effect elevating U.S. Grant as President...Yippee!

These good deeds came at a great cost to our nation.

I do believe in time Buchanan will still be consider the worst President in history no matter how historians rate "W" presidency.

It is hard to forgive a man(Buchanan) who let our nation dissolve and did next to nothing to stop it.

Just Shameful!
