Jenna,

I've been lost this year since my boy Ward Burton hasn't been around. Did you know he's a Civil war junkie as well? I saw an interview with him somewhere, and he had a Stonewall Jackson biography with him. He's a great guy off the track as well.

Tony is on a roll this year, if he just doesn't let his anger management issues get him off-track, you know, punching fans, shoving cameramen, etc.

I like Matt, but you have to admit, he's not exactly the most exciting guy in the world.

Do you like the new points system? It's breaking my heart that Junior is out of the chase. NOT!!

Let me rub it in.... I'm 5 minutes from the Bristol Motor Speedway.

Regards,

John W.

Steven,

I hear Sterling has an entire Civil War room in his home, with battle murals and everything. He is also a relic hunter, which I have dabbled in (private land), but haven't been too successful in. He had ancestors who fought in a Tennessee regiment, but I can't remember which one it was. There was a move by the TN Div of the SCV to draft him for membership, but I never heard what the result was. Unfortunately, Southerners are a dying breed in NASCAR, which is a shame, since they made it what it is.

Regards,

John W.

Aauugghh!!! I've created a monster!! I supposed you Southern gentry to be big-time football fans- shows what an urban Northern 'clerk and shop-keeper' knows! Cool Civil War connection. Well, enjoy, fellows.

My own favorite sports start with ice hockey, but it was baseball which was food and drink with me as a lad. Also football (our kind) and soccer (the other kind), which I got interested in when my sons started playing, which evolved into genuine love and coaching and refereeing. I am also almost fanatical about the Olympics, which i have watched on TV since I can remember, my dad being a runner. Every 4 years when the Olympics arrived , it was a big event in our household. I to this day never miss them, and my own kids are the same.

Ole

I used to enjoy pro boxing, until too many boxing federations or sanctioning bodies came into being. Now there are so many titles, it's hard to know who has what. Just my opinion.

JohnW, I don't much care about title fights, I just like to watch two unknowns pit their skill and endurance againste each other.

Out of the list, I'd say there are five sports that I enjoy watching, but one of them is my clear favorite.

I thought the original question asked for a single favorite sport, but then I see the poll says to check as many as you want, so I'm a little confused.

Have most people been voting for all the sports they enjoy watching, or limiting themselves to one particular favorite?

Hoosier, you are in the right of it, I should have asked the question in the plural; I meant it to be a multipick thing. I thought it would be too hard to limit to a single sport, I know it is for me- I picked 5 and had a hard time limiting to that, so went with only my very favorites. When you make these polls, you have to write in your question and any explanation first, then create the poll and you can't go back at that point to the first part, which is tough because when you are writing what it is you are going to inquire about, you aren't (at least I am not) thinking about the technical aspect of setting up the poll. I haven't ironed out all the bugs about doing it yet. Hopefully practice makes perfect- I have a few more ideas for polls. It isn't rocket science either, and anyone can do it, so pitch in folks.

In the meantime, vote for your favorite sport(s) to watch. Sorry for creating any confusion.
