Memphis I have to applaud you for honoring the fallen in such a way. I view it almost as a personal affront to find a Veteran in an unmarked grave. Perhaps it stems from helping my father dig graves when I was a child. Seeing a broken or vandalized stone seemed the worst insult to a man or woman who had served something greater than self.

Steve, My great coat is quite comfortable in winter and I sometimes find myself wearing my Hardee outside for yard work... I carry my shade w/ me.

Reading anything about the war that I can get my hands on. Also, researching my ancestors who fought on both sides during the war.

I second that. All my money seems to disappear into my book collection, but it's all worth it.

Most of my money Does disappear into my music and book collection. Received 3 more books on Gettysburg today and have 1 or 2 waiting for pickup at B&N at this moment.

Reading (I just picked up Grant's Memoirs, 1st edition) , collecting/researching images, and shooting. I will join the N-SSA in Jan. and hope to be involved throughout '06, and of course, collect anything having to do with the 30th IL Inf.

Working on my novel is my favorite Civil War activity... it was because of the silly thing that I got into reenacting and did so much CW research!
