Who we are looking for:
CivilWarTalk is looking for writers who like to share their Civil War knowledge with others on the internet. You do not need to be an expert in anything, although we encourage the experts to contribute as well. Anyone who enjoys writing about the Civil War may send in their articles.

What we are looking for:
We are looking for synopses of battles of the Civil War, biographies, and any other insightful articles. We are also looking for writers who would like to design a specific Topic Area. If you have an intrest in this period in history and would like to write an article or design a topic area, we will post it on our site.

Some article suggestions might be:
The Gettysburg Address, The falure of Pickett's Charge. Any battle, personality, cultural / political issue from the Civil War can be used as subject matter for an article. Choose a topic which you are most knowlegable in.

Some topic area suggestions might be:
Women in the Civil War, Blacks who fought in the Civil War, the US & CS Navys....

As a writer, you will retain full copyright, credit, and ownership of any articles you submit. If you wish you may also send a picture and biography about yourself for CivilWarTalk.

About CivilWarTalk:
CivilWarTalk is a privately-owned web site, created in order to collect and catalogue Civil War information, for the purposes of further study, as well as to facilitate a community of like minded Civil War enthusiasts.

Audience:
Your submissions will be read by casual and educated Civil War enthusiasts. Other readers can include school children, college students, teachers, professors, historians, and everyday people.

Writing Tone:
When writing your article for CivilWarTalk, you should remain scholarly at all times. Please keep personal opinions and biases to a minimum. These biases may show through to the reader, this could possibly discredit your work. You should assign blame and credit where both are due.

Length of Article:
Your submissions can be of any length. In fact, the longer the length -- the better. A typical article can run anywhere from 600 words, up. Biographies will typically run 1000 words or more. If you wish to design an entire topic area for our resources page, a topic can contain up to 5000 words or more of textual info on multiple pages, plus images, and other media. Contact the webmaster about designing a new topic area.

Citations:
Footnotes and bibliographies are strongly recommended. Many readers will want to see the source of your information.

Format:
We can accept articles in the following formats: Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, RTF, PDF, HTML, or text file format.
